Duck with Potato Knödel and Blue Kraut

After the sewing class this evening the weather was really nice, so I went to join Philip and a couple of his colleagues for dinner in Augustiner Bräustuben. But when I got there it was cloudy and windy, and we sat on the terrace upstairs without roof.

Frikadellen with Mashed Potatoes

Philip wished for some Frikadellen and mashed potatoes for dinner, so I looked up for the best rated recipes in chefkoch.de and got Omas bestes Frikadellen and Kartoffelbrei.

Yamien

Noodle is one of the many favourite foods in my homeland.

In restaurant they're usually served as stir-fry with vegetables and meat or seafood, the mie goreng. The street vendors serve it with beef fond, called mie bakso.

Mun Tahu

Since a few weeks ago I wanted to make this dish and today I finally made it for dinner. It's one of my favourites, but hubby is not a fan of tofu and he said that silken tofu has a "funny consistence". meh.

Cod Fish, Carrot and Mushroom Congee

This morning my kitchen still smelt so oily after last night's dinner, so I didn't feel like frying some of the chicken for lunch. Instead I made myself some congee from the rest of the rice with whatever I had in the fridge.

Fried Chicken (supposedly) Suharti's style

A friend of mine has an album in facebook of pics of food. She lives in Singapore and I guess she goes home often, at least more than me, since it's very close to Indonesia. So the album is full of foods that I rarely eat, that I can't remember when I had them the last time.

A few days ago as I had a look for the hundredth time, I got a craving of spare ribs and ayam goreng Suharti, one of the famous fried chicken franchises in Indonesia. It's so famous, especially in Yogyakarta, that after a family feud the original owner and her ex-husband each then made their own brand: Ayam Goreng Suharti and Ayam Goreng Ny. Suharti. @_@

Chicken Balls Soup with Vegetable Strips

This healthy food taste so good and just right for my light dinner. It's really easy to make, like you can see in this video here.

Omuraisu

A few days ago I found this recipe for Omuraisu (= omelette rice) in a blog about japanese foods. The pictures are cute and the story is interesting, so I thought I'm going to try making it as another version of fried rice. I've never had it before, so I've no idea if my omuraisu taste like what it should be. :D
